Good morning night!
I've been off for about one full month to take some holidays from everything!
No distractions through mobile-phones, e-mail, facebook and all the other
webby seducers that try to turn my creativity into wasted time.
However, now I'm online again, the batteries are loaded (the beer is in the fridge)
and I give you the first cartoon of the second half of my "Apocalypse Year". The
name is stolen from the pop-screamo-spastics of GAY FOR JOHNNY DEPP
which should not only describe my intention of the picture but also should
headline this second half of this year. I'll focus more and more on death,
devolution and hopelessness, topics I'm stuck with since I settled in my
depressive thinking to hate the whole human race.
The image is fineliner with digital colors.
So, enjoy my highway down the drain and get ready for the upcoming
eye-cancer-parade! Hail Satan!

THE FINAL BLOOD BATH.
I hope, everyone of you enjoyed this weekend's BBQ! To remind you of the things
you swallow, I made a small piece that represents the "Fat American" who doesn't
care about where his food comes from. No one knows about the whole details of
the food industry, including me but people should ask themselves every time they
eat meat if this is necessary... Peace.
The title's from DISCHARGE.

HELP IS ON THE WAY.
Party People!
Three weeks ago I had a post where I designed a festival-ticket and promised
you a poster design as well. The image for the poster is now already finished.
The whole thing still needs a layout but I can't keep the picture back from you!
So, here it is. The style is exactly the same as with the ticket, which means a
graphite-drawing (somehow, I'm stuck with graphite this month...) and a
powerful color scheme (petrol background, gray - and ugly - characters, pink
and yellow laser-beams). The size of the original is 27" x 20" and took nearly
the whole night from tuesday to wednesday (this is good for my dark circles
around the eyes). Next week I think, the poster will be finished, until then you
can enjoy this (non-christian) motif. The characters remind me of the
Mudokon Abe from "Oddworld" - pretty fine game, very 90's haha!
Leave a beer if you want!
The title is stolen from the fucking fantastic song "Help (is on the way)"
from ALL EYES WEST's self-titled record. Check it out, it's awesome!

HIGH WHORE.
Unholy Sunday!
Please welcome a new month! A month full of love, where I hope my pictures
are going to become a little more positive. I start with a beautiful colored
piece which took some time. This one I drew with graphite and tried to do it
more accurate than my slutty biro-drawings... The image is going to be used
in a tour-poster for some local bands (yes including my band) so I wanted to
create some iconic character with a monumental touch between a jungle-ruin
and the Medusa. The colors should be both washed out and loud, I think I hit the
bull's eye (at least my personal imagination). The poster-design will follow soon!
If you should fall in love with my creature, please let know. Otherwise listen
to RAGING SPEEDHORN's same named song. It's a fucking bulldozer!

A DECLARATION OF SORTS.
Hello, depressed party-people!
Life's running in circles and so my new creature does. And even it's spring,
there's no reason for me to draw happy pictures (maybe they come when
the leaves are falling). Oh, I'm actually working on a new look for my website.
It's nearly a longtime-project, cuz there's so much other stuff to do...
However, today I finished the bio for the website and I can tell you that it's
NO FUN to write your own memoirs! But I think it would be much less fun
if somebody else would write it. Life is not all guns and roses et cetera.
But hey, here's my newest shit! It's a dirty biro drawing which took 30 minutes
in our rehearsal-room and 90 minutes whilst a phone-call to complete the
analog phase - the digital coloring didn't take that long. Please don't ask me
how the creature wants to eat pizza...
The post-title is a song from SMALL BROWN BIKE's fantastic
"The River Bed"-Album from 2003. Hope to see you next week!
Cheers, Robert

TIME JESUM TRANSUENTUM ET...
Good Evening!
It's time to land a new one in this place here. Inspired by the song from
Nick Cave & DIRTY THREE I drew a small graphite-piece that's going
to be used as ticket-design for a friendly guy named Ben. He's running
a small independent mailorder called www.100kiloherz.de which is
going to celebrate it's second birthday with a small festival in July.
A poster-design will follow soon; I'm sure we'll meet this little ugly
creature again. Maybe he's doing a party with some friends... So, have
a good nightmare!

PRAYING FOR KISSES FROM POISONED LIPS.
Hey!
I'm sorry; I'm actually listening to OCEANSIZE's "The Frame" so
please don't blame me if I write some obscure stuff...
The new picture is a light-horror image with a religious mood, while
the title from (non-christian) BETWEEN EARTH & SKY fits perfect
on it's intention. This time, I fought a little with the colors. Before I
decided to choose these washed out ash-tones I tried some zombie-
green for her skin and some violet for the background (and some pink
for the eyes but maybe you can imagine how this looked like).
The drawing itself went very fast. While I started with thoughts of a
girl with the name Franca Stein I shaped out a skinny, light deformed
silhouette and ended up with this subtle 19th-century-flavored religious
content. I'm very happy about the result!
If you have the chance, listen to the band!

BLACK ART NUMBER ONE.
Ladies-n-Gents!
Here's a new one inspired by GHOST OF A THOUSAND's "Black art number one" and MILLENCOLIN's "Home From Home"-Album. This time, it's a small image with a well thougt composing and reduction to the essential. See my last posts and you'll know what I mean!
So, enjoy the new week!

WE ALL FALL DOWN.
Hey dudes!
I'm sure, you don't want to know that I'm trying to use every empty minute
in my life to keep drawing. It's a pretty simple rule but sometimes I have
to push myself through the comfort of the after hours. How do I kick myself?
The unfinished pictures lie all around my flat and (!) on the front passenger
seat of my car, when I drive to work. They're always on my mind and they're
begging to get finished! So, I have no other chance than finding myself at
the kitchen table or the desk wasting the evenings with drawing ugly
creatures. By the way, this circumstance is the perfect condition for my
eye circles.
For my recent picture I kicked many of my daily lunch breaks at work.
I usually have a 30-minutes walk, but the last days I used to drive with
my car to a quiet place and rocked the paper.
The title is lent from I LIKE TRAINS which come around with a new
album these days.
