LITTLE BOHEMIA.

Hey!

Summer is that special time in a year when everything's in harmony. So, here you get a picture I drew in my garden on lovely (lovely, lovely, lovely) saturday afternoon. As you might see, I managed to transport this unique summer mood into my picture. Lovely, huh?

My material were my old fellows ink and watercolor.
The title's by SMOKE OR FIRE. Couldn't find a good version of it so, try this.

WEEPING ROCK ROCK.

Hey people!

This time I give you a very lovely piece. It's summer, so everybody has to be happy. The shading took very long this time but I wanted to exercise my new technique on a bigger picture. So, here it is!

The title's by Icelandic band MÚM. Check out that fantastic video!

POSTERPOSTER.

Hey friends,

even this my 100th post, I just give you warmed up shit. Here's the poster design for a nice (and probably rainy (or foggy)) weekender with my band. Booked by a friendly guy named Lukas, who's playing in PRIDE AND EGO DOWN. We share the van this weekend.

Cheers, Robert

THE LOW FREQUENT SEA / MUSCLE'N FLOW.

Folks!

Everything's fine and yes I will not start a Google flash mob with my 40 million friends (and search for dirty bombs and shit like that). Surveillance is great...

I made two illustrations where I tried some new technique in shading. The material's my weapon of choice - biro and digital color. Enjoy!

I recommend to listen to MENOMENA and JAI ALAI SAVANT.

Cheers, Robert

ELITE.

Oh yeah, folks!

Welcome back. This time, I give you another rough and analog piece. The postural defect and the expression of the face remind a little of Otto Dix. The title's by the mighty DEFTONES.

Cheers, Robert

YOUR NECK.

Hey!

To tell you the truth: it's my neck. It's hard like a surfboard. Thanks headbanging. Ah, there are no digital overdaubs in this drawing.

The title's by ALKALINE TRIO.

SLIPPING AWAY.

Welcome again, folks!

I believe that we'll go straight to hell like the girl in my new piece of work. As you can see, I'm totally stuck with these nuke clouds again. Yes, I have these visions of a nuclear apocalypse in my head frequently and with a mixture of fear and romanticism I draw these pictures.
This time I had my focus on a diversified and fine shading to create a dreamlike scene. For that reason I simply used my 2B, 4B and 8B pencils and finally, there was no reason to color this thing. Hope you like it, otherwise.. you know...

The title's a NINE INCH NAILS song which is to find on their fantastic "Things Falling Apart", one of my all-time-favorite-records.

Cheers, Robert

CLEAR THE AIR.

Hey humans!

Here's another one. For the coloring I used a photo from my trip to Portugal this month. I totally love these complementary colors in it so I adapted them to this bust of an ugly creature. All in all I kept it very simple, just made a super light glow round the silhouette, and now, there's a thing that looks like a melting Homer Simpson.
The title's from OFF WITH THEIR HEADS which have a super cool video for that song.

FIGHT OR FLIGHT.

Hey dudettes, hey dudes!

After an almost quiet month you get a new piece out of my BRAOWBABOOM-Studio. The drawing itself has the same age as my romantic nuclear-octopus-image but finally I found the time to color it. My intention was to settle this Art Nouveau-guy in the undergrowth of a secret forest on a fresh morning. So I experimented a little with colors, contrast (see the worms) and wasted some time to balance the digital light. The title was, like the picture itself, accidental. While the drawing came out of the blue I just had 5 seconds to name it. In my playlist ran THE LEVELLERS so I simply named the picture after one of their songs. Not a pretty innovative title but for me it's suitable.
